We tested hot foil stamping on PMMA acrylic sheet with a TJ8020PS machine and silicone mold at 170°C, 180°C, 190°C, and 200°C. The 190°C setting produced the best balance of complete foil transfer, sharp edges, clear details, even metallic gloss, and lower risk of acrylic softening or deformation.

In this TJ8020PS hot stamping test, pearl paper envelopes were tested at 90°C, 100°C, 110°C, and 120°C. The best result came at 110°C, with clean foil transfer, sharp edges, stable adhesion, and minimal paper deformation.

Hot stamping leaves deep marks on leather when the process is too aggressive for the material. The usual causes are too much pressure, too high temperature, too long dwell time, a large solid die area, soft leather, weak material support, or a die that is not level.

If your paper embosser is not making a clear impression, the most common causes are paper that is too thick or too hard, artwork that is too detailed, weak hand pressure, incorrect die installation, poor paper positioning, or a die size that is too large for the paper and tool.

Hot stamping foil, toner foil and Cricut foil are not the same material. For a heated brass die, hot stamping machine or hot foil pen, use hot stamping foil or heat-activated foil made for heat and pressure transfer.

To align brass letters for hot foil stamping, set the text in a brass type holder or interchangeable slot whenever possible, mark a straight baseline on a test sheet, center the full word before heating, lock the letters tightly, and make a blind test impression before stamping with foil.

Gold foil can look perfect right after stamping and still fail later if the adhesion is weak.

Most of the time, no. If your logo is simple, your material is stable, and your die is well made, one clean foil-stamping pass is usually better than doing the job twice.

If you want to add a logo, seal, name, title, monogram or decorative mark to a product, the first question is not always "Which machine should I buy?"
The better question is: What kind of mark do you want the customer to feel and see?
