Applications & Performance

Soap Embossing:

  • Soap Hardness: Works with cold-process, melt-and-pour, milled soap
  • Optimal Timing: Press when soap is firm but not fully cured (24-48 hours after pouring)
  • Pressure Required: Light-medium (soap is soft)
  • Imprint Depth: 2-5mm (depending on soap hardness and mold detail)
  • Recommended Molds: Brass or acrylic stamps, 40-80mm diameter

Leather Stamping (Cold):

  • Process: Pressing leather stamps without heat
  • Leather Type: Veg-tan leather (dampened for better impression)
  • Pressure: High force needed for deep impressions
  • Applications:
    • Belt hole punching
    • Snap setting
    • Rivet installation
    • Embossing patterns (with dampened leather)

Craft Applications:

  • Button Covering: Press fabric onto button shells
  • Eyelet Setting: Install grommets in fabric, leather, vinyl
  • Badge Making: Press pin backs onto badge fronts
  • Jewelry Making: Set stones, press metal findings

Light Assembly Work:

  • Bearing Installation: Press bearings into housings (small bearings only)
  • Pin Insertion: Install dowel pins, roll pins
  • Press-Fit Assembly: Join components with interference fits
  • Staking/Swaging: Deform metal to secure parts

Operating Guidelines

Setup:

  1. Place press on stable workbench or table
  2. Optional: Bolt to bench through base mounting holes (4× M8 holes)
  3. Adjust worktable height for comfortable operation
  4. Install appropriate pressing head/die

Operation:

  1. Position workpiece on grid worktable (use scale for alignment)
  2. Lower ram by hand to check positioning
  3. Apply lever force smoothly and steadily (avoid sudden jerks)
  4. Hold pressure for 1-3 seconds
  5. Release lever and raise ram
  6. Remove workpiece

Best Practices:

  • Use consistent force for repeatable results
  • Support uneven workpieces to prevent tilting
  • Place protective material between ram and delicate items
  • Don’t exceed press capacity (risk of frame damage or bending ram)

Maintenance

Weekly:

  • Wipe down all surfaces
  • Check ram for smooth travel (should slide freely)
  • Lubricate ram column with light oil

Monthly:

  • Clean and lubricate lever pivot points
  • Check worktable adjustment screw threads – apply grease if needed
  • Inspect all bolts/fasteners for tightness

Annually:

  • Disassemble and thoroughly clean all components
  • Inspect ram for wear, straightness
  • Re-lubricate all moving parts
  • Touch up paint if scratched or chipped

Safety Considerations

  • Keep hands clear of ram and pressing area when operating lever
  • Don’t exceed rated capacity (can bend ram or crack frame)
  • Wear safety glasses when pressing materials that may fracture
  • Ensure workpiece is stable and won’t shift during pressing
  • For very hard materials, press slowly to avoid sudden shifts

Accessories

Included:

  • Flat pressing head
  • Adjustment wrench for worktable
  • User manual

Optional:
